Sentilla Joins The Green Grid

Membership Underscores Sentilla's Commitment to Reducing Data Center Energy Consumption

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb 03, 2009—Sentilla Corporation, provider of demand-side energy management solutions for data centers and commercial facilities, today announced its membership in The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems. As a General Member, Sentilla will collaborate with others in the data center industry to recommend technologies and best practices to help organizations improve data center efficiency and increase energy cost savings.

Sentilla's technology, which tracks consumption at the equipment or server level, helps data centers and commercial facilities cut energy usage, resulting in reduced energy costs and carbon footprints. Last week Sentilla launched its new Sentilla Energy Manager™ for Data Centers to provide detailed analysis of the power profile of a data center, enabling managers and IT staff to better measure and manage power consumption, increase energy efficiency and lower operating costs to improve business performance.

The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center and business computing energy efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, Sentilla is helping to influence both developers and end users of data center technology.

“Sentilla's technical leadership has resulted in an innovative energy monitoring and management platform that provided a missing piece in the data center equation,” said Joe Polastre, founder and chief technology officer of Sentilla. “By contributing to the efforts of industry organizations such as The Green Grid, we can contribute to further development of crucial technologies and practices that will have a lasting impact not only on data center business performance, but also in reducing carbon emissions to better the planet.”
