Bob Davis accepted the role of Sentilla's Chief Executive Officer in 2008. Bob brings nearly 30 years of experience to this position with an exceptional track record of transforming promising startups with great technology into solid business success stories. He comes to Sentilla from CA Inc., (formerly Computer Associates) having risen to Senior Vice President and General Manager of CA's Storage Business Unit following the acquisition of Netreon, where he was President and CEO. Bob also Co-founded and led Kaseya, a managed service pioneer, building it from simply a "good idea" to a successful exit. Prior to Kaseya, Bob amassed Marketing and Sales experience across a range of high-growth companies, expanding on core skills established at Intel and Novell, where he rose from Product Manager to Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing in eight short years.
Bob holds an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Santa Clara, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Bob is an avid sports enthusiast and loves to pilot his own planes.
Joe Polastre is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Sentilla. Joe is responsible for defining and implementing the company's global technology strategy and for orchestrating Sentilla's product road map. He holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University. Joe sits on numerous technical boards and commissions and is regularly sought by industry forums to speak on pervasive computing and its role in energy management. Joe was among the pioneers of the pervasive computing industry while at University of California, Berkeley, and deployed the first and largest applications. Before joining Sentilla, he held technical positions at IBM, Intel, and Microsoft.
Doug Engledow joined Sentilla Corporation in 2008 as Vice President, Worldwide Sales. A technology industry veteran, Doug brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic alliances, business development and executive sales management for both startup and public technology companies. In his current role at Sentilla, Doug leads a team of business development and sales professionals focused on strategic alliance relationships and sales channel expansion into global markets.
Doug joined Sentilla following a successful career at CA where in his most recent role he lead the Mid-Market Business Unit as their Vice President, Worldwide Partner Enablement. Prior to CA, Doug?s extensive experience has spanned successful sales executive positions at 3ParData Inc., Veritas Software Corporation, Sun Microsystems, and Digital Equipment Corporation. He is the recipient of numerous corporate awards for sales excellence and leadership.
Doug holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Columbia College. Interests include competitive sports, in particular running where to date he has completed five Chicago Marathons (best time 3:39), and the occasional Triathlon.
David Williams joined Sentilla in 2007 and heads our Engineering team. Prior to Sentilla, David spent ten years leading development efforts at Danger and AvantGo, two companies specializing in software for low-footprint, high performance wireless devices. Before moving to wireless, David was a Senior Engineer at Netscape, taking a lead role in developing the Navigator and Communicator platforms that precipitated the ascendancy of the Internet. While his passion is helping startups revolutionize industries, David's career started at Hewlett-Packard during the heyday of the HP Way, forging a solid foundation of engineering best-practices that he carries to this day.
David received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and holds seven U.S. patents. David loves motor racing.
Cory Sharp is Co-founder and Principal Architect of Sentilla Corporation and is responsible for the core design of Sentilla's software platform. Cory holds a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Rob Szewczyk is Co-founder and Principal Engineer for Sentilla Corporation. Rob is the primary developer behind Sentilla's software platform. Rob's experience with pervasive computing stems from his work with wireless sensor networks. He co-invented a low-level language for networking and controlling these devices in 1999 that is still used today.
Rob holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S in Computer Science from Cornell University.
